The Deception and Lies of the Antichrist: Hollywood Movies

In previous articles, we have seen how Hollywood actors have admitted being demon possessed (Robin Williams, Johnny Depp, and others admitted being possessed. Click the highlighted words to read.). We’ve looked at the occult aspects of movies such as The Lord of the Rings, Disney movies, and Harry Potter movies. Now, we are going to look at the power behind the movies. Who really is in charge of Hollywood and what are his goals for movies?

His name is Satan, and he was once one of the most powerful angels in God’s kingdom. Lucifer (a.k.a. Satan) rebelled against God and became Satan, the deceiver. The Devil led one third of God’s angels against God in a rebellion. Satan was defeated and cast out of the Holy realm of Heaven where God is worshipped by His angels.

Satan took up residence in a realm beneath the third heaven (the third heaven is mentioned in 2 Corinthians 12:2). Satan and his team form the “spiritual wickedness in high places” mentioned in Ephesians 6:12. They seek to lure people into their traps (2 Corinthians 2:11) and keep lost souls from hearing the truth about Heaven and Hell and salvation through Jesus Christ (Romans 5).

Satan’s people have created a web of deception found in movies, video games, TV shows, books, magazines, and many so-called “Christian” churches in order to lure people away from the truth.  We read in 2 Timothy 4:3-4 how people will “not endure sound doctrine” but will “be turned unto fables”. They will not want to hear the truth of scripture or personally know the God of the scripture.

2 Timothy 4:3-4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Hollywood is a vehicle to lead the Church away from God through passivity, entertainment, and sorcery. What do we mean by sorcery? We will explain in the section below.

PASSIVITY: Movies Make People Passive

(Photo: Watching TV. Source.)
Passivity is the state of not being active in mind or in body. The word “passive” is defined by Webster’s American Dictionary of the English Language (1812) as: “2. Unresisting; not opposing; receiving or suffering without resistance; as passive obedience…” (1).

People who are passive are not actively living. They are not perceiving the difference between the truth and deception (which is a lie mixed with some truth). [I (the author) want to make it clear I am not seeking to attack anyone who watches movies. I myself used to watch movies, sometimes two per night. God called me to stop watching movies and led me to get rid of my entire movie collection.] Movies induce a state of passivity into the minds and spirits of those viewing them. This opens people up to Satan’s deceptions, which are abundant in Hollywood movies and other forms of entertainment.

SORCERY: Witchcraft in the Movies

Entertainment has existed since ancient times to entertain the masses. The ancient Greek theater is the grandfather of our modern movie theater. There, actors wearing costumes and masks would perform tragedies and comedies to amuse or entertain the crowds.

An article titled “The Greeks” says this about the ancient Greek theater:

"The theatre of the ancient Greeks was in fact as far from ... [the] Victorian model as could possibly be imagined. It was a spectacle of loud music, vivid colors, and vigorous dancing; it was regularly bawdy, frequently obscene, and often blasphemous, ... scandalous, and carnal..." (2).

The Greek theater was “obscene”, “carnal”, “vivid”, “loud”, “bawdy” (or sexually immoral), “scandalous”, etc. Does this at all sound similar to modern TV shows and movies?
Satan’s plan has been to destroy the family by first targeting the man, the head of the household. By targeting men (and women) with tempting images and seduction, movies produce carnal pleasures in men (and women) and work to pull families apart. Beside this, movies (TV shows, many books, etc.) draw men and women to subconsciously imitate the immoral lifestyles and habits of their favorite characters.

People quote more lines from movies than they do scripture verses. Many will talk about football, sports, movies, actors, actresses, their hobbies, etc. than they will about Jesus Christ or God the Father or the Bible. These things are mentioned in Jeremiah 2 and in much of the Bible.

Jeremiah 2:13
13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Idols will never hold the living waters of God. Only God Himself can fill us up and meet all our needs, spiritually, emotionally, physically (food, health, etc.), etc. God is the Source of all life. Apart from God is death. Movies seek to take the place of God--that is Satan’s goal. Satan wants Christians to turn to idols and hobbies and movies and friends instead of to God Himself for fulfilment and everything we need.

Movies take away time from seeking God and doing productive things. And, while movies are entertaining to watch, they do nothing to fill people. People leave the theater feeling just as empty and hopeless as when they first arrived. [I know from experience. They will never satisfy anyone.]

The promise many believe that entertainment will fill their needs is a lie. The lusts of the flesh, the pride of life, and the sinful pleasures that Hollywood promotes are very appealing to the flesh, but will only produce spiritual bondage and distance from God through sin.

Do not let Satan lead you astray with everyone else. Do not let the Devil destroy your soul with his lies and deceptions and false promises. Pornography (i.e. includes fornication and adultery), entertainment, books, movies, relationships with people, etc. will never fill anyone’s need for God. God is calling His children to forsake all sins (including pornography which is fornication and adultery) and forsake all false teachings which are contrary to scripture (i.e. The Holy Bible). The only way to do this is through God as we look to Him for help and guidance.

The occult is one of the lures Satan has to draw souls into Hell. The occult promises things that give people a false sense of having “power”. It only produces bondage and distance from God. The occult with its magic, its special “powers”, and its demonic supernatural side is appealing to many people who want something more in their life. God only can fill the void they have. Don’t watch occult or Hollywood movies if God is putting conviction on your heart. Obey God and seek Him. God is calling out to His children, His sheep to seek Him and repent from their sins (as they look to Him).

Turn from your idolatry and turn to the living God!

Luke 16:13: “No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
Ephesians 5:11: “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

If you don’t know God’s name (i.e. if you don’t have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ) seek Him now. Read below to learn how to be saved from eternal damnation and how to have a relationship with God.

Would you like to find out how to Know God's Name Personally?

IF YOU ARE SEEKING TO KNOW GOD, please read this message.

1 Timothy 2:5: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”
Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
Ephesians 2:8-98 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God loves us so much that He sent His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins and shed His precious blood to pay for all of these sins. It is not by any works of ours that we are saved (Ephesians 2:8-9). (See John 3:16; and 1 Corinthians 15:3-5; and Romans 5:8-11.)

If you repent (turn away) from your sins (Acts 3:19), looking to God for help; and believe and confess aloud that Christ has paid for all your sins and washed them away (Romans 10:9-10); and have made Him your personal Lord and Savior (again Romans 10:9-10) you are saved.

When you make Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior, you are choosing to look to Him for help in repenting (turning away) from sins. God will help you to repent from sin as you look to Him and make the choice to do what is right and not what is wrong.

Seek God with all your heart. Seek to know Him and you will (Jeremiah 29:13). God wants to have a personal relationship with each one of us (through Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord).

Again, remember to repent whenever you are convicted about sin so that you can grow closer to Jesus Christ as you seek Him. Please also remember, you are not saved by works but by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Repentance is necessary for walking with God and getting close to Him. Willfully refusing to repent (when God convicts you about sin) is hardness of heart (see Hebrews 3).

John 17:3: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.”
Jeremiah 29:13: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”
John 14:6: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”
